About the Group

We are a group of Northeastern students who love to sing! We have been creating music together since 2013, ranging from traditional madrigals to contemporary choir pieces. We aim to provide our members and our community with the opportunity to engage in unique styles of music.

We rehearse bi-weekly, and hold auditions every semester. Additionally, we have at least one performance per semester, in addition to a variety of other gigs. If you’re interested in having us at your next event, let us know and we would be happy to join you!

What Are Madrigals?

A Madrigal is a secular piece of music written during the Renaissance period.

While both secular and sacred Madrigal-sounding pieces are colloquially referred to as “Madrigals,” musicologists differentiate between the secular, often bawdy, Madrigals and the sacred Italian Madrigals (Madrigale Spirituale) that came during the same period. Both are often, but not always, polyphonic and have no repeated sections.
